I adore this illustration of the person chasing the sled. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 It’s my favorite of all your work (that I’ve seen so far).

Maybe all those months since you quit your job earlier in 2022 are not about failure. Maybe they were a much needed Creative Rest.

I’m a writer, not an artist, but I suspect every creative person--in the literary arts as well as the performing arts, visual and fine arts and so on--needs to rest and recharge their creative energy occasionally.

Whether or not you are painting or drawing, you are an artist. Whether or not I’m writing, I’m a writer. If we never left our studios or desks, if we never spent time in Nature, and quality time with our families, friends, and pets, if we never read books and went to museums and listened to music, how would function? Where would we find inspiration?

It is in living that we find the means to express ourselves.

Thank you! I needed to hear the You reap what you sow in that particular context. It makes a lot of sense! I have my annual review this afternoon and this is coming handy!^^ All the best with setting your goals for 2023, I have that planned at the end of the month too. ^^

I hear you. I hope things get better soon. I love your illustrations so I encourage you to keep going even if you work in small increments. They eventually add up. I heard this quote about failure several years ago and it completely changed how I felt about it. I hope it'll do the same to you. "Failure is just a way the universe is whispering that you are going in the wrong direction."

So happy to see you back! I’d love to have an open discussion about our year and how it’s gone :) this time of the year always feels particularly nostalgic.

I really love your illustrations and I hope you continue to find the magic and light in your art. As an artist myself, I often find myself moving between mediums/goals/hopes and thus outcomes. So I hear you ❤️ it may not be perfect right now, but perhaps we can try to see that right now is here and here is always good!

Not failure... You needed to gain perspective for a successful future. That's never easy. I would even go so far as to say you have to fail to succeed. But it's also important to define success. To me, success is not money, though I wish I had more money. It's feeling like my life had a positive impact on others.
